As part of our numeracy this term we have made our own tessellating pattern.
Tessellation is a pattern made of identical shapes.
The shapes must fit together without any gaps.
The shapes should not overlap.
A pattern of shapes that fit perfectly together.
3/4B all make their own tessellating pattern.
Have a look how they turned out!
These are transformations:
After any of those transformation (turn, flip or slide), the shape still has the same size, area, angles and line lengths.
Our task was to make a template of the first letter of our name and turn, flip and slide it, then decorate it.
3/4B are working on narratives this term. As part of our learning we are developing the character traits of our characters. This has meant that we have really had to think hard about what our characters are like. Are they nice, mean or sad, positive or negative, active or not, confident or nervous and what do they look like.
We have drawn and described our characters on a brown paper bag and placed all of their traits inside.
This is a picture of our display.
